He was married (1st wife) Mae Jewel (Mooneyhan) Stafford B:1939-D:2000 on August 25th, 1955 in Sumner, Tennessee until her death. They had four children: Harry Harington Stafford B:1959-D:2006 Roger Van Stafford Sheila (Stafford) Brad Stafford Mae was the daughter of James Washington Mooneyhan B:1900-D:1963 and Martha Josephine (Walker) Mooneyhan B:1903-D:1985. Freeman's 2nd wife/2nd cousin was Georgia Geraldine (Stafford) Stafford B:1938-D:2003. Geraldine was the daughter of Fred Lee Stafford B:1916-D:2001 and Ethel Beatrice (Stafford) Stafford B:1911-D:1976. Freeman and Geraldine shared the same great-grandfather (Lorenzo Dow Stafford Sr. B:1858-D:1940.) Freeman's 3rd wife was Cathy F. In Kentucky, he worked at a dairy farm. For a time, he, Aunt Mae, and their children lived in Robertson County, Tennessee right down the road from where his parents, along with Timmy and I, were living. It was on Kemper's Farm. Uncle Freeman and his parents worked on the tobacco farm there. This was in the 60s when I was around three years old.

Roy's parents: James Washington Mooneyhan 1900-1963 and Martha Josephine (Walker) Mooneyhan 1903-1985 - Note - Lorenzo Dow Stafford Jr. 1924-1968 and Roy Lee Mooneyhan 1929-1968 died together in a car accident.
