Uncle Freeman was born in Gainesboro, Jackson County, Tennessee, and passed away in Gainesboro, Jackson County, Tennessee, but he lived many years in Bowling Green, Kentucky before moving to Gainesboro.

In Kentucky, he worked at a dairy farm. For a time, he, Aunt Mae, and their children lived in Robertson County, Tennessee right down the road from where his parents, along with Timmy and I, were living. It was on Kemper's Farm. Uncle Freeman and his parents worked on the tobacco farm there. This was in the 60s when I was around three years old.

  • I have first-hand knowledge. I am Freeman's niece who was able to spend a lot of time with him and his first wife while I was growing up. Freeman was more than an uncle to Timmy and me. He was also like a brother, due to us being raised by his parents. It was the same way with Freeman's siblings: Rhoda, Jean, Lucille, Buddy, and Ronnie.
