I was (along with my brother, Timmy Lee Stafford 1966-2004) raised by Cora's daughter, Ethel (Biggs) Stafford, and Ethel's husband,  Van D. Stafford. My grandparents talked often about Cora's life to me and my brother.

When Cora Liza Rush was born on February 1, 1891, in Gainesboro, Tennessee, her father, Charlie Rush 1871-1936, was 20, and her mother, Mary M (Stafford) Rush B:1874-1958, was 16. She had one son and three daughters with  Woody C. Biggs B:1884-D:1974. She then married  Lorenzo Dow Stafford Sr. B:1858-D:1940, and they had five children together. She died on February 22, 1964, in her hometown at the age of 73. Burial: Denson Cemetery in Gainesboro, Jackson County, Tennessee.

(A Note about Cora, Woody, and Lorenzo Dow Sr.)

Cora and Woody were divorced at one time - Cora married her son-in-law's (Van) grandfather, Lorenzo Dow Stafford Sr. 1858–1940, and had children from that marriage - later, Cora and Woody remarried. Woody had married two other times and had children from those marriages. Woody also had other children Out of Wedlock.
